2. Program Objectives :

- Competent with basic knowledge in manufacturing technology,  able to identify and solve operational problems

- Able to communicate effectively and demonstrate leadership skills to lead a  multi disciplinary team

- Accountable to the society, environment, ethics and good social conducts

- Enhanced supervisory and managerial capabilities through life

- long educational development and awareness on manufacturing technology

 

3. Program Features :

- Weekend classes

- For working adults

- Conducted in English language

- Minimum 7 semesters (around 2 years) programme

4. Program Structure  :

a) Compulsory (5 subjects) – 15 credit hours

b) Core (8 subjects + 2 projects) – 30 credit hours

c) Elective (5 subjects) – 15 credit hours

5. Assessment  :

a)  Assessment of the 18 taught courses:

40% – 50% (test, case studies and in-class activities)

and 50% – 60% Post Module Assignment (PMA)

b) Assessment (Project): 100% project supervision and Report

Log book:20%, Project Implementation:30%,

Project Proposal:50% / Project Report :50%).

c) Student must attend all classes and fulfill course requirements before coursework and PMA would be assessed

 

6. Entry Requirements  :
a)  University General Requirements

Passed in a single sitting SijilPelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with three (3) credits

or

b) University General Requirements (Certificate Holders)

Obtained a certificate from Polytechnic or equivalent in a field relevant to the course

applied with a minimum of CGPA 2.00, and passed all subjects of specialization

or

3. University General Requirements (Other qualifications)

Holds other qualifications deemed equivalent to SPM levels with three (3) credits and approved by the Government of Malaysia and by the UTM Senate.

AND

4. Programme Specific Requirements

- Candidates must provide evidences endorsed by the present employer that they have had at least three (3) years working experience in a related field

- At least 21 years of age.

- Pass the interview / test to certify experience, if so required by UTM

- Candidates are required to submit a detailed transcript of SPM/ Certificates results

(from the first semester to the final semester) / Course Attendance,

endorsed by the employer.

 

7. Graduation  Requirements  

To graduate, students should:

• Complete a total of 90 credit hours (60 credits + 30 PEL credits)

with minimum CGPA  of 2.00.

• Complete and Pass Diploma Project I (Proposal) and Diploma

Project 2   (Report).

 

8. Fees  

Application fee    : RM     100

Tuition fee  : RM 16,000

9. Conclusion  

-This Executive Diploma is a practical Continuing Education program for working adults that emphasize more on work related studies and application based knowledge, thus fulfiling our Government aim of creating knowledge workers for the industries.
